Many traders come to Hai Duong to buy ornamental peach trees, prices double last year.

Gardeners with ornamental peach varieties for sale are mainly concentrated in Thach Khoi, Tan Hung, Gia Xuyen wards (Hai Duong city). There are dozens of households participating in cultivating peach varieties, many households have 3-4 sao. On each sao, families cultivate an average of 50,000 trees, mainly peach and peach varieties.

According to some garden owners, compared to the same period last year, the demand for ornamental peach trees has increased. For about a week now, many traders in some northern provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Vinh Phuc... have come to the garden to buy in large quantities. The reason is that storm No. 3 (storm Yagi) made landfall in the northern provinces in September 2024, causing many peach areas to die.

Peach seed prices are high this year. Farmers sell each peach seedling at the field for 25,000 - 30,000 VND/tree, double the same period last year. With this price, peach seed growers make a big profit.

Before storm No. 3 made landfall, Hai Duong province had about 428 hectares of ornamental peach trees, concentrated in Hai Duong city, Gia Loc district, and Kinh Mon town. After the storm, many peach trees died and were no longer able to recover.

Since the Lunar New Year of the Snake, taking advantage of the basically favorable weather, peach growers in the province have begun planting and grafting new peach crops to serve the market for the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.
