According to statistics at the Central Dermatology Hospital, from June to September 2022, about 900 patients with irritant dermatitis came for examination, of which nearly half were patients with contact dermatitis caused by ants.
Currently, it is the breeding season of the three-cavity ant. Information from the Central Dermatology Hospital shows that the number of cases of dermatitis due to contact with three-cavity ants has increased significantly during this time compared to other months.
But unfortunately, many patients self-treat with folk remedies, arbitrarily buy medicine to drink and apply, rub hard, scratch causing damage leading to serious complications leading to deep ulcers, with a high risk of leaving dark spots and scars.
Or there are patients who actively catch ants with the hope of curing skin fungus... According to dermatologists, this method is very dangerous, it can cause the toxin of the ants to spread, causing fever and blood infection.
Therefore, it is taboo to let the secretions of the ant come into contact with the body. If you see the ant on your body, you should not use your bare hands to hit it. It is best to have a piece of paper so that the ant can crawl onto the paper and then remove it from your body.
If you accidentally come into contact with the secretions of the ant, you must wash it immediately, neutralize it with soap, salt water or 70-degree alcohol, and apply a soothing medicine such as cream. After that, the patient should go to a specialized medical facility for proper treatment instructions.
