This also explains why at this time of year, many people are stung by three-compartment ants.

The three-cavity ant contains a strong poison that can cause burns and skin irritation. People who come into contact with or are stung by this ant will experience skin damage, blisters that cause itching, burning pain, blistering, and even damage to the mucous membranes, causing temporary blindness if the bite is in the eye area.
