Compared to previous years, job opportunities for workers in early spring this year in Hai Duong are quite abundant and favorable. Workers have a better chance of finding a better job if they want to change jobs.
Easy to find a job
At the end of 2023, Ms. Dao Thi Ha in Co Dung commune was working at Leo Industries Far East Vietnam Co., Ltd. (in the same Kim Thanh district) when she lost her job due to the company ceasing operations. Although she had been informed in advance, Ms. Ha was still sad because she had been with the company for 7 years. She thought that finding a job would be difficult, but soon after, Ms. Ha was introduced by the Kim Thanh District Labor Federation to work at Nhat Nam Precision Mechanics and Trading Co., Ltd. (Kim Thanh). At the beginning of the new spring, Ms. Ha went to work with excitement. "I was very happy to find a job right away, so I did not have to interrupt my insurance payments," Ms. Ha said.
In early spring, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong (Nam Sach) decided to "change jobs" because her previous job was too stressful and her income was not as expected. On January 6, Ms. Thuong went to Formostar Vietnam Garment Company Limited to apply for a job in the technical department. Ms. Thuong said that after researching on the company's Fanpage about labor recruitment, she found that she could meet some of the job positions that the company needed. Workers can work overtime according to their needs, so they can be more proactive with their time. Therefore, Ms. Thuong resigned from her old company to find a new job.
According to the Hai Duong Provincial Federation of Labor, by February 16, about 90% of employees in enterprises with trade unions had returned to work. Only a few enterprises gave workers a break until February 19 and workers living far away had not returned to work. Compared to previous years, although jobs were easy to find this year, the situation of workers was less volatile as workers gradually moved towards stability. Many enterprises and grassroots unions anticipated the situation of "job hopping" in early spring, so they had better policies to retain workers.
Continuous recruitment
According to Ms. Ho Thi Dieu Hang, Director of Administration - Human Resources, Changhong Vietnam Technical Co., Ltd. (Tan Truong Industrial Park, Cam Giang), in February, the company will start building an additional factory. The new factory will ensure jobs for about 2,000 workers. The company has signed orders until 2026, and even has many orders until 2027, so workers do not have to worry about not having enough work. "We are recruiting continuously, giving priority to technicians, employees who are good at English, Chinese, and sales staff. Workers' income is stable at 8-12 million VND/month," Ms. Hang said.
Formostar Vietnam Garment Company Limited (Hai Duong City) is also recruiting about 300 workers, including 100 sewing workers. To attract workers, the company rewards 2.3 million VND for new unskilled workers and 3.6 million VND for new skilled workers. In addition, the company pays a breakfast allowance of 312,000 VND/person/month, supports gasoline of 283,000 VND/person/month, accommodation of 383,000 VND/person/month and has a productivity bonus. On average, workers earn about 13 million VND/person/month. Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Trade Union of Formostar Vietnam Garment Company Limited, said that this year, orders are abundant, so workers do not worry about job cuts or layoffs. The most difficult time for the company was when the Covid-19 epidemic was complicated, but now it has overcome it and is more stable, the only worry is that workers do not have the strength to work.
In 2024, Hai Duong enterprises plan to recruit nearly 54,000 workers, an increase of 9,000 workers compared to 2023, mainly unskilled workers. The labor recruitment demand of Hai Duong enterprises in 2024 has increased since the beginning of the year and is higher than in 2023 due to improved and expanded orders and product consumption markets.
This year, job opportunities for workers will be abundant in many industries such as textiles, footwear, electronics. To ensure stable employment for workers, in addition to the connection of the Hai Duong Employment Service - Vocational Education Center, trade unions at all levels actively grasp the situation, provide advice, introduce jobs, and prioritize workers and laborers affected by the Covid-19 epidemic or who have lost their jobs due to business dissolution or suspension of operations.
