Messenger, Instagram users can create their own personal AI chatbots

Meta announced on July 29 that it has begun rolling out its AI Studio platform in the US, before expanding it to users elsewhere. AI Studio is built on the Llama 3.1 model, allowing for the creation and discovery of personalized AI chatbots.

Llama 3.1 is the largest open-source AI model, released by Meta last week. According toReuters, some statistics show it has competitive performance with OpenAI's paid model.

You can install this AI for yourself, or share it with your followers, or even use it to chat with anyone on Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and the web," Meta describes on the blog.

To start creating, users can go to the pageai.meta.com/ai-studioor open a new message on Instagram, then tap “Create AI Chat.” From here, they can customize the AI ​​character’s name, personality, tone, avatar, and motto.

Content creators and business owners on Meta's platforms can use AI to chat with followers, automatically answer questions, and even comment directly on posts.
