Real Madrid beat Atletico, meet Barcelona in Spanish Super Cup final

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid created an eye-catching match with a "rain of goals" at Al-Awwal Park (Saudi Arabia) in the first semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup.

After 120 minutes of intense competition, the Spanish Royal Team won 5-3 against Atletico to enter the final.

This is a worthy reward for coach Carlo Ancelotti and his team after what they showed in the Madrid derby.

This victory gives Real Madrid the chance to win the 13th Super Cup in history to narrow the gap with rival Barcelona.

The 3-3 result remained the same when the whistle blew to end the 90 minutes of official play, forcing the two teams to enter extra time to determine the winner.

In extra time, coach Carlo Ancelotti's students played better than their opponents and scored two goals.

In the 116th minute, Stefan Savic accidentally became the sinner when he scored an own goal while trying to block Joselu's header, helping Real Madrid lead 4-3.

And when time entered the 120+2 minute, Brahim Diaz accelerated strongly in a quick counter-attack and scored into an empty net to seal a 5-3 victory for Real Madrid.

A dramatic victory over Atletico Madrid has sent Real Madrid straight to the Spanish Super Cup final.

After the victory, coach Carlo Ancelotti could not hide his emotions and affirmed that the team will never give up under any circumstances.

“This comeback is nothing new, it is in the DNA of Real Madrid,” said the Italian. “Let it be an interesting experience for the young players. This team never gives up. You can lose but never give up.”

“The game was very intense, both teams fought hard and did not want to lose. We won because we were stronger at the end,” added coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Real Madrid's opponents in the Spanish Super Cup final will be Barcelona or Osasuna. As planned, the final will take place in the early morning of January 15 (Vietnam time).

After the final, Real Madrid will return to Spain to prepare for the rematch with Atletico Madrid in the Spanish King's Cup.
