According to the forecast of the Hai Duong Hydrometeorological Station, from the night of September 30, areas in the province will have moderate rain, heavy rain, some places will have very heavy rain, scattered thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. The average rainfall is 40-70mm, some places will have more. In the early morning of October 1, cold air will affect the Northeast region, including Hai Duong, the rain will decrease rapidly. From the afternoon and night of October 1, the area will have rain, showers and thunderstorms in some places.

Heavy rains in a short period of time are forecast to cause flash floods and landslides in the mountainous areas of Chi Linh and Kinh Mon, and flooding in urban areas and low-lying areas. Thunderstorms reduce visibility when driving, causing slippery roads and traffic accidents; overloading the urban drainage system, causing flooding in residential areas and traffic jams. In addition, thunderstorms accompanied by whirlwinds, lightning and strong gusts of wind can cause trees to fall, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.
