According to TASS news agency, on his Telegram page, Mr. Smirnov wrote: “I have instructed the head of the Belovsky district administration to speed up the implementation of the decision of the evacuation control center.” The evacuation of civilians in the Belovsky district is voluntary.

According to Nikolai Volobuyev, head of the Belovsky district administration, local residents are currently being evacuated by private vehicles and buses arranged by local authorities. They are being accommodated in temporary accommodation in Kursk and safe areas around the area.

Since August 9, the Russian National Anti-Terrorist Committee has introduced security measures in the Kursk region as well as Bryansk and Belgorod to ensure the safety of civilians and prevent attacks by the Ukrainian army.

These measures may include moving people to safe areas, suspending production activities involving hazardous materials.

Ukraine's large-scale offensive against Russia's Kursk region has been ongoing since August 6.
