Now is the time to converge all advantages and strengths to bring the country into a new era - the era of national growth - following the era of independence, freedom, building socialism and the era of innovation.
From the first revolutionary stages, our Party soon realized the importance of modernizing the country through innovation, creativity and application of advanced technology.
In the context of increasingly deep globalization, the fourth industrial revolution taking place strongly, and increasingly fierce international competition, the development of science and technology, innovation, creativity and digital transformation increasingly shows its significance and especially important role.
That is not only a prerequisite, but also an opportunity and a requirement of reality to create a solid foundation for the country to enter a new era - the era of national growth.
On December 22, on behalf of the Politburo, General Secretary To Lam signed and issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
The Resolution clearly identifies 7 tasks and solutions in implementation, from innovation in thinking to building a team of talented people and international cooperation.
The Resolution also outlines specific visions and goals, including the scale of the digital economy reaching at least 30% of GDP by 2030 and at least 50% by 2045; becoming one of the digital technology industrial centers of the region and the world; being among the top 30 countries in the world in innovation and digital transformation...
By outlining the path to bring Vietnam into the era of national growth, towards a prosperous and sustainable future, the resolution is considered a clear demonstration of the strategic vision and political determination of our Party in developing science, technology, innovation, creativity and national digital transformation.
Notably, according to the resolution, the Politburo decided to establish a Central Steering Committee on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development, headed by the General Secretary of the Party Central Committee; and at the same time, establish a National Advisory Council on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development with the participation of domestic and foreign experts.
This not only demonstrates the highest political determination, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in implementation, but also clearly demonstrates the spirit of openness, willingness to listen to relevant opinions as well as respect for collective intelligence and wisdom, both creating a driving force to promote science, technology and innovation, and laying the foundation for a modern and transparent governance.
After 40 years of innovation under the leadership of the Party, Vietnam has achieved important achievements, from a poor, backward, low-level, besieged and embargoed country, to becoming a developing country with average income, deeply and widely integrated into world politics, the global economy, and human civilization...
Currently, as General Secretary To Lam discussed on October 31 at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, it is the time to "converge" all advantages and strengths to bring the country into a new era - the era of national growth - following the era of independence, freedom, building socialism and the era of innovation.
In that context, Resolution 57-NQ/TW was issued to act as a breakthrough strategy, laying the foundation for the country's sustainable and prosperous development, successfully achieving the goal of Vietnam becoming a developed country with modern industry and high middle income by 2030; and becoming a developed country with high income by 2045.
However, to create a strong, decisive, resolute, positive movement, to realize aspirations, reach goals, and achieve great achievements... as implied by the era of rising up, the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army need to make efforts and be confident to overcome challenges, surpass themselves, be ready to commit, sacrifice personal interests, take the lead in innovation, eliminate the old and the backward, dare to innovate and create, dare to break through for the common good...
Only with unity and decisive action can we put the resolution into practice and turn the ambitious goals of the new era - the era of national growth - into reality.
