Writing the story of Vietnam in the new era

Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Work Nguyen Trong Nghia attended and delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Speaking at the Award Ceremony, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that the 10th National Foreign Information Award Ceremony is an important event, a meaningful forum to honor the outstanding contributions of individuals and groups in foreign information work - a field of strategic significance to the cause of national construction and defense.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia congratulated the authors, groups of authors, and collectives whose works were honored, and expressed deep gratitude to the forces working in foreign information in all fields at home and abroad for their continuous efforts for the common cause of the country.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia also thanked the sincere and good feelings that international friends have given to the country and people of Vietnam. This is a valuable support, contributing to spreading and positioning a very good image of Vietnam in the eyes of the international community.

According to the Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Vietnam's foreign information work has gone through a long journey with many proud achievements, especially in recent years. In the face of fluctuations in the world situation, foreign information increasingly demonstrates its role as an important bridge to help the world understand correctly and more deeply about Vietnam. At the same time, this is also a sharp tool to protect national and ethnic interests, and fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.

“The achievements of foreign information work are not only reflected in impressive figures such as the number of works and the number of information accesses, but also through the influence and recognition from the international community. Vietnam is known not only as a country with a rich culture and a heroic history, but also as a country that is strongly striving on the path of innovation and international integration. The 10th National Foreign Information Award has attracted the attention and enthusiastic participation of domestic and foreign agencies, organizations and individuals. Thousands of entries this year are not only diverse in genre but also rich in content, demonstrating the creativity and responsibility of those working in foreign information work,” affirmed Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department assessed that the excellent works honored at the Award Ceremony highlighted the image of a dynamic, integrated, resilient Vietnam that overcomes challenges, while affirming the cultural identity and historical traditions of the nation.

Emphasizing that the country and people of Vietnam are standing at the threshold of history, in that context, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia clearly stated that foreign information work is identified as an important part of the Party's political, ideological and foreign affairs work, State diplomacy, and people's diplomacy. This is a regular, long-term task of the entire political system, under the leadership of the Party.

In order to meet and successfully complete the tasks of foreign information work in the coming time, the Head of the Central Propaganda Department suggested that foreign information work needs to continue to pave the way, create the foundation and favorable conditions to help our country firmly enter the new era, the era of the Vietnamese people's rise; need to closely follow the country's development goals, closely linked to the major strategies of the Party and State with the motto of being proactive, synchronous, timely, creative, effective, and at the same time quickly grasping new media trends.

Building foreign information products not only accurately reflects reality but also has a predictive and directional nature, ensuring the good performance of its role and mission, contributing to promoting relations with neighboring countries, major countries, strategic partners, comprehensive partners, traditional friends and other important partners in depth and substance, constantly uniting and deepening the affection between the Communist Party of Vietnam and political parties; contributing to consolidating a stable and peaceful foreign situation and creating the most favorable conditions for the country's development.

Foreign information work needs to promote innovation, encourage initiatives in propaganda and promotion of Vietnam, and effectively utilize the achievements of the fourth industrial revolution.

Foreign information needs to continue to affirm the historical mission of cultural traditions and noble ideological values ​​of the Vietnamese people; bring national soft power to new heights by positioning the position of an autonomous, confident, self-reliant, self-reliant Vietnam, proud of humanity, building an increasingly better world, taking people's lives as the center, taking national comprehensive strength as the basis to write the story of Vietnam in the new era, new era.

Along with that, we should pay attention to building and nurturing a foreign information force with strong political will, high professional qualifications, professional working style, and sharp awareness.

This force must be truly improved in quality, equal to the task, in which the leading role is played by Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, the team of domestic and foreign press reporters, at the same time mobilizing and gathering a large number of people and international friends to participate, creating a national position and international solidarity in foreign information work.

In particular, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia hopes and places his trust in young people with intelligence, creativity, and enthusiasm as weapons, along with love for the homeland and country, and national pride as assets, to make more positive contributions to foreign information work.

Looking back on the 10-year journey of formation and development of the National Award for Foreign Information, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed that the award has gained prestige, position, and status and has gone beyond the territory of Vietnam with an increasing number of foreign authors and works; believing that the award will continue to have new developments, serving increasingly effectively the work of foreign information, creating a solid foundation for the whole country to enter a new era.

The Organizing Committee of the 10th National External Information Awards received 1,289 entries. The categories of printed newspapers, electronic newspapers, Vietnamese and foreign language websites, and television still lead in the number of entries this year.

The themes of this year's works/products continue to cover all important political, foreign affairs, cultural events, etc., the country's achievements in all fields; information on the Party and State's guidelines, policies, especially current development priorities such as science and technology, digital transformation, green economy, etc.; introducing and promoting the beauty of the country, people, and cultural values ​​of Vietnam.

The form of expression is diverse, modern, actively using new media (for products/works in the video clip category). The works/products of foreigners demonstrate a deep, positive, multi-faceted vision of Vietnam's foreign affairs activities, Vietnam's relations with countries in the region and the world, the attractiveness of Vietnam as an interesting destination, and the history and long-standing culture of Vietnam.

Notably, in addition to the popular languages ​​participating in the award in previous years, this year there are new languages ​​such as Arabic, Italian, Sinhala...

Based on the award rules, the Award Council selected 109 best works/products to award prizes. Of which, there were 10 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 30 third prizes, and 49 consolation prizes.
