Speaking at the National Informatics Competition for Young Officials and Civil Servants on the morning of October 8, Secretary of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Minh Triet said that the digital capacity of each citizen is a decisive factor in digital transformation.
On the morning of October 8, the award ceremony of the National Informatics Competition for Young Officials and Civil Servants took place in Hanoi. This competition has been jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Vietnam Association for Information Technology since 2013.
The contest aims to promote the effective application of IT and improve the quality of work of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and young workers, contributing to the implementation of administrative reform, digital transformation, and building a digital government.
Through the contest, young officials, civil servants and public employees will be standardized and receive office computer skills certificates according to international standards.
According to Secretary of the Central Youth Union - Nguyen Minh Triet, to successfully transform the country digitally, the digital capacity of each citizen, especially young citizens, will be one of the important and decisive factors.
Realizing that, in recent years, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has organized many activities and playgrounds in the field of IT, including the National IT Competition for young cadres and civil servants.
Over the past 8 times of organizing the contest, thousands of contestants who are officials, civil servants, and public employees from all provinces, cities, and agencies across the country have participated. In 2023, the contest will continue to be organized, attracting more than 3,200 contestants.
Many provinces and cities combine the organization of the contest with creative activities and digital transformation of local youth, creating diversity and appeal, attracting the attention of youth and the community. 29 provinces, cities and 6 central agencies have selected 150 best candidates to participate in the national contest.
Candidates will compete in 4 groups. Group A will have a test to assess information technology skills and knowledge, and the ability to apply digital transformation to practice at commune-level, district-level agencies and units or equivalent.
Tables B1, B2, B3 with tests on knowledge assessment, ability to apply digital transformation to local practices, ministries and sectors where you are working and corresponding skill tests MOS Word 2016, MOS Excel 2016, MOS PowerPoint 2016.
In addition to assessing IT application skills in professional work, the exam content has been innovated with a focus on assessing knowledge, digital transformation capabilities and advisory capacity of officials and civil servants, applying knowledge, and proposing practical solutions in localities and central ministries and branches.
At the end of the National Final Round of the Informatics Competition for Young Officials and Civil Servants, the Organizing Committee awarded 33 consolation prizes, 17 third prizes, 12 second prizes and 4 first prizes.
First prize in Group A with the test assessing information technology skills and knowledge, the ability to apply digital transformation into practice at commune-level, district-level agencies and units or equivalent belonged to contestant Dang Thanh Nam, from Long Phu District Medical Center, Soc Trang province.
First prize in Group B1 with the test on knowledge assessment, ability to apply digital transformation to local practice, working ministry and corresponding skills test MOS Word 2016 belongs to candidate La Quoc Thang, Da Lat University (Lam Dong).
In table B2, with the test on assessing knowledge and ability to apply digital transformation to local practices, ministries and sectors where she is working, and the corresponding skill tests of MOS Excel 2016, the first prize went to contestant Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngan, from VNPT Kien Giang (Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group).
In table B3, with the test on assessing knowledge and ability to apply digital transformation to local practices, the ministry and the corresponding skills test MOS PowerPoint 2016, contestant Nguyen Van Phuc from the Son Tra Regional Tax Department (Ngu Hanh Son, Da Nang) won first prize.
For each First Prize, the winning contestant will receive a Certificate of Merit from the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, a Certificate from the Organizing Committee and a cash prize worth 3 million VND.
According to Secretary of the Central Youth Union - Nguyen Minh Triet, the National IT Competition for young cadres and civil servants is a good opportunity for young people to evaluate their IT application capacity and accumulate more experience for professional work.
