On January 22, the cold weather in Hai Duong area caused many elderly people with respiratory diseases to be hospitalized for treatment.

During the day, Hai Duong Lung Hospital received about 100 elderly patients for examination, including 60 cases hospitalized due to common diseases when the weather turns cold such as pneumonia, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, respiratory failure, etc.

The cold weather is forecast to continue in the coming days. The number of elderly patients hospitalized is expected to increase. In addition to professional work, Hai Duong Lung Hospital has implemented many cold-prevention solutions for patients during their inpatient treatment days.

As of the afternoon of January 22, Hai Duong Lung Hospital is treating 422 patients with respiratory diseases. 93.7% of the hospital's actual beds have been used.

Doctors note that the cold weather will continue for a long time. The elderly must always wear warm clothes, limit going out, and improve their diet to limit dangerous respiratory diseases that require hospitalization, especially as the 2024 Lunar New Year approaches.
