The People's Committee of Ha Tinh City has just directed the Department of Education and Training of wards, communes and schools to prepare to launch the campaign "Sunday without extra teaching and learning".
On the morning of November 9, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Nga - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh City, said that the unit is preparing for the launching ceremony of "Sunday without extra teaching and learning" under the direction of the City People's Committee. The launching ceremony is expected to take place on Monday afternoon (November 13).
The program launched "Sunday without extra teaching or learning" hopes that on Sunday students can rest, have fun with their families, and not be pressured by studying. The Head of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh City also said that the launching ceremony was supported by public opinion and parents.
Ha Tinh City People's Committee informed that in recent years, the city has directed to rectify extra teaching and learning activities. The Department of Education and Training has strengthened management, inspection, detection and handling of violations of extra teaching and learning.
However, recently, extra teaching and learning activities in the city still take place in different forms and levels. This causes pressure and affects the psychological and physical development as well as the time for rest, play and entertainment of students.
Faced with the above situation, the City People's Committee requested the City Department of Education and Training, People's Committees of communes and wards, primary schools, secondary schools and inter-level general schools to seriously implement current regulations on extra teaching and learning.
Specifically, schools that teach 2 sessions/day are not allowed to organize extra classes for students. Graduation exam review, transfer exam review, tutoring for weak students, and training for excellent students are only arranged during school hours (if parents request in writing).
Do not teach additional preschool children who have completed the 5-year-old kindergarten program and are preparing to enter grade 1, or primary school students, except in cases of training in arts, physical education, and life skills training.
Teachers receiving salaries from the salary fund of public service units are not allowed to teach extra classes outside of school with students who are currently teaching regular classes without the permission of the head of the teacher's management agency.
