The dangers of using fake driving licenses

Many websites display attractive advertisements such as "Get a motorcycle license without taking the test, starting at only 1 million", "Buy a driver's license without taking the test with original documents"... On social networks, there are also countless attractive advertisements such as "support for a guaranteed pass package for theory and practice", "No need to show up to get a license"...

Not only appearing on Facebook, many people also receive invitations via text messages. Mr. BDN in Ninh Giang once received an advertising text message with the content of making all types of driving licenses from A1, A2 to B2, C cars... with delivery to the place before payment.

Despite the danger, there are still people who defy the law and use fake driving licenses to participate in traffic. In the first 7 months of 2023, the traffic police force of Hai Duong province discovered and handled 4 cases of using fake driving licenses. There was even a case of using a fake driving license to drive a passenger car.

On March 11, at km 59, National Highway 5, in Hai Duong City, the working group of the Nga Ba Hang Traffic Control Station, under the Traffic Police Department (Hai Duong Provincial Police) discovered that the passenger car 14B-025.97 traveling from Hai Phong to Hanoi had signs of violating the regulations on carrying more people than the prescribed number, so they stopped the vehicle for inspection. After counting, it was discovered that the car was carrying 41 people while the car was only allowed to carry a maximum of 29 people. When the driver presented the relevant documents, using professional measures, the working group discovered that this person's driver's license was fake.

During the investigation, driver Nguyen Trung Kien, born in 1984, in Ha Tu ward, Ha Long city (Quang Ninh) stated that because he did not have a class E driver's license (a requirement for driving a passenger car), around April 2022, Kien hired a person to forge a car driver's license via Facebook under the representative name "Kien Nguyen". Kien sent personal information of another person, Vu Quang Hiep, born in 1984, also in Ha Tu ward, Ha Long city, and his portrait photo to the forger for 5 million VND.

Another case was discovered by the Nga Ba Hang Traffic Control Station on April 7, at km67+100 of National Highway 5 in Tuan Viet Commune (Kim Thanh). When checking the car 15C-320.40 for speeding, the working group discovered that the Class D driver's license of driver Dinh Van Linh (born in 1989, residing in Dai Ban, An Duong District, Hai Phong) showed signs of forgery. Driver Linh stated that he had bought the fake driver's license through Facebook for 4 million VND.

According to Major Bui Thanh Toan, an officer at the Nga Ba Hang Traffic Control Station, using a driver's license that is not issued by a competent authority is a violation of the law and is very dangerous when participating in traffic. People using fake driver's licenses to participate in traffic have not been trained, do not have the skills to handle situations when participating in traffic; lack of understanding of legal regulations on traffic order and safety is no different from gambling with their own lives as well as those of the people in the vehicle and other people participating in traffic on the road.
