The new generation of MINI Cooper has just been launched, marking a new turning point for the British brand.
The new MINI Cooper retains the "traditional" frame but is smoother, more sophisticated and luxurious.
In early September, MINI officially introduced the new generation of MINI Cooper to global users. Compared to the old version, MINI Cooper 2024 has a "comprehensive" improved design, a chassis that supports pure electric vehicles to the maximum, and a neoclassical cabin that promises to help them convince old customers and attract new customers.
In terms of powertrain, the new generation MINI Cooper has two pure electric configurations and both are front-wheel drive only. The low version uses a single motor with 181 horsepower, 290Nm and has a range of 305km. The high version uses a single motor for better parameters at 215 horsepower/330Nm and a range of 402km. Both versions take 30 minutes to quickly charge from 10% to 80%.
The overall design of the 2024 MINI Cooper retains the sporty frame that has been associated with this hatchback for decades. However, underneath that frame is a much more complex and mature skin that creates a distinctly more luxurious feel.
The new MINI Cooper and its predecessors
Many of the signature curves of the MINI Cooper have now been transformed into straight lines, while the previous plastic and chrome surfaces have been transformed into more modern painted metal surfaces. A wider hood, new headlights and taillights, 16- to 18-inch wheels, hidden side handles and a soft rear are some of the main highlights on the exterior of the 2024 MINI Cooper.
The interior of the 2024 MINI Cooper has been revealed before and is certainly unmistakable from any previous version with a much larger scale of change than the exterior. The circular interface in the center of the dashboard is now "retained" by a round OLED screen that supports touch and this is also the focal point for the entire area with this minimalist design.
The entire dashboard design is redesigned from the screen, air-conditioning vents to the upper surfaces.
In addition, in front of the driver there is a secondary HUD screen that displays information commonly found on the traditional instrument cluster. The control system is now transferred to the central screen as well as voice command control technology is the main.
In addition to the pure electric version, the new MINI Cooper will maintain the previous petrol version through an upgraded configuration that will be launched in the near future. The price of the pure electric version will be announced when the car goes on full sale in early 2024.
