Apply sunscreen, moisturize day and night, limit makeup, add green vegetables, fruits and filtered water to have bright, smooth skin and reduce acne.

Near Tet, the temperature drops, the skin is prone to dryness, cracking and dehydration, irritation, acne, and roughness. The humid environment is favorable for fungi to grow, causing skin fungus. The level of impact depends on many factors such as genetic makeup, skin type, and exposure to sunlight.

Doctor Do Kim Anh, Department of High-Tech Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, Hanoi Medical University Hospital, gives the following skin care tips for Tet:

Apply sunscreen

Regardless of whether it is sunny, rainy or working indoors, you are exposed to UV rays or blue light from your phone and computer. This is the factor that causes skin aging, dead cells to be produced more, dull and lose its natural smoothness. UVA rays can still penetrate clouds, glass doors, and clothes to affect the skin, causing aging, wrinkles...

Sunscreen does not make your skin more beautiful immediately, but it helps protect your skin and prevent aging effectively. If you have to be exposed to intense sunlight, you should choose a cream with a high SPF. If you work in an environment without direct sunlight, you need a cream with a lower SPF. The safe index is 15 or higher (SPF 30 for fair skin), reapply every two hours. Use on all skin exposed to the sun, including ears, back, shoulders, back of knees and legs.

Skin undergoing acne treatment should not use sunscreen.

Moisturizing

In winter, the weather is dry, the skin often becomes dehydrated, flaky, irritated, and inflamed. Rough skin causes pain, itching, cracking...

You need to choose a moisturizer that is suitable for each skin type as well as the damaged area and the level of dry skin.

Apply a moisturizer within three to five minutes of showering to maintain moisture in the skin, helping to lock in moisture and increase the effectiveness of the product.

Choose an alcohol-free moisturizer and use a soap-free cleanser to ensure that your skin's natural oils are maintained.

The amount of moisturizer used for adults is 500-600 g/week, for children 250-300 g/week. In addition, depending on different skin conditions, the doctor may prescribe increased or decreased moisturizer use.

People with atopic dermatitis should use moisturizer at least two to three times a day, increasing the number of times if the skin is very dry. The number of times the moisturizer is applied should be spread out throughout the day to maintain the skin protection effect of the moisturizer.

Drink enough water

In addition, you should supplement and drink enough water to keep your skin from drying out. Drink 1.5 to 2 liters of water per day. Limit drinking soft drinks, alcohol, beer, and coffee, which will make your skin drier.

Maintain a nutritious diet, especially foods rich in vitamins from vegetables and fruits that are beneficial for skin regeneration.

Supplementing vitamins for the body, such as vitamin B in turkey, tuna, cereals, beans, bananas helps to keep the skin healthy, restores dry skin. Vitamin C from citrus fruits, peppers, tomatoes helps to soften and brighten the skin, increases collagen production to prevent aging. Vitamin E in soybeans, cereals, nuts increases skin moisture, is an antioxidant, and reduces skin pigmentation.
