Mazda CX-3 adds cheapest version in segment

The 2023 Mazda CX-3 models with slight upgrades are arriving at dealerships in the first week of December. Truong Hai (Thaco), the Mazda car assembly and distribution unit in Vietnam, added a low-cost 1.5 AT version, the remaining versions have slightly reduced prices.

The overall exterior and interior design of the new CX-3 is almost unchanged from the old version. The 1.5 AT version replaces the Deluxe version to become the standard version. The price of 524 million VND of this version is the cheapest in the B-size CUV segment. Previously, the MG ZS model had the lowest price, from 538 million VND.

The Mazda CX-3 1.5 AT version has basic equipment such as halogen headlights and taillights. The headlights do not have an automatic on/off feature. Fabric seats, manual air conditioning, 2 airbags.

In the old version, 16-inch rims were standard equipment, but now Thaco has changed to 18-inch, used for all versions. The car has glossy black plastic side moldings instead of the matte black of the old version.

The sunroof is a new feature on the CX-3 and is only available on the two highest versions. The remaining features remain the same as the old version, including the 1.5-liter SkyActiv-G engine, 110 horsepower, maximum torque of 144 Nm. 6-speed automatic transmission. The highest version has the i-Activsense safety technology package.

With a new price of 524-644 million VND, Mazda CX-3 is one of the two most affordable models in the segment, along with MG ZS priced at 538-638 million VND. Although it is a Japanese car brand, the price of CX-3 is much lower than its domestic competitors such as Toyota Yaris Cross (730-838 million VND), Honda HR-V (699-871 million VND).

CX-3 and CX-30 are two CUV models imported from Thailand by Mazda. By the end of October, Mazda CX-3 sold 1,203 cars, much lower than the two Korean competitors leading the market share in the segment, Hyundai Creta (7,548 million VND) and Kia Seltos (7,334 cars).
