Car sales during the ghost month dropped sharply

On September 11, representatives of some car dealers in Hai Duong City such as Hyundai, Mazda, VinFast said that from August 16 (ie July 1 of the lunar calendar) until now, each dealer sold an average of 20-60 cars, a decrease of about 50-60% compared to the 7th lunar month of last year.

The reason given by representatives of dealers is that this year the economy is difficult, consumers are tightening their spending, so the car market is even more gloomy, purchasing power has decreased sharply.

On the other hand, the policy of reducing registration fees for domestically manufactured and assembled vehicles is applied until the end of December 2023, so many customers are willing to continue waiting. Most customers only deposit money, complete some procedures and wait until after the ghost month to receive the vehicle.

In order to stimulate consumer demand, many dealers have launched promotional programs such as giving away additional accessories or direct cash discounts depending on each vehicle model.
