The number of visitors to traditional markets and restaurants in Hai Duong increased sharply during the New Year holiday.

According to some traders at traditional markets such as Dong Ngo Quyen and Thanh Binh markets (Hai Duong city), and Ngoc Hoa market in Vinh Hoa commune (Ninh Giang), the number of people coming to shop on the first day of the new year has increased sharply.

This year, New Year's holiday is only 1 day so many people do not travel but choose to eat and party with friends and relatives.

Prices of many items at the traditional market increased slightly. Specifically, the prices of some types of meat increased by 5,000 - 10,000 VND/kg compared to normal days: beef from 280,000 - 330,000 VND/kg, pork belly 140,000 - 155,000 VND/kg, ready-made chicken 120,000 - 135,000 VND/kg, ready-made duck meat 75,000 - 85,000 VND/kg.

Some vegetables also increased in price by 2,000 - 3,000 VND compared to normal days, such as cabbage, cauliflower from 12,000 - 18,000 VND/piece, tomatoes 16,000 - 20,000 VND/kg, squash from 20,000 - 24,000 VND/kg, chrysanthemum greens, celery from 5,000 - 10,000 VND/bunch...

During this time, the number of customers coming to many eateries and restaurants in Hai Duong City also increased by 20-30%. Early in the morning, many breakfast restaurants were crowded and there were no seats left. Despite the large number of customers, most restaurants and eateries kept their prices stable.

According to the owners of some restaurants, the number of customers ordering take-out has also increased sharply by 40-50% compared to normal days.
