Just because of a conflict between the couple, the husband used a weapon to beat his wife to death, then dismembered her body, wrapped her body in a mattress, put it in a plastic bag and threw it into the sea to destroy the evidence.
Quang Nam Provincial Police have just successfully investigated and solved a murder case that dumped a body into the sea. Quang Nam Provincial Police leaders informed that the investigation agency identified the suspect as Tran Bao Uyen (63 years old), residing in Group 23, Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang City.
The suspect Tran Bao Uyen is also the husband of the victim, Ms. Truong Thi T. Tr. (41 years old), residing at 20 Do Hanh, Group 10, Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang City.
According to Quang Nam Provincial Police, when working with the investigation agency, the suspect was very stubborn, evasive and denied the crime with a series of false statements. The police agency applied synchronous professional investigation measures from the smallest clues along with evidence and scientific documents that the suspect could not deny. Suspect Tran Bao Uyen had to bow his head and admit that he was the perpetrator who brutally killed his wife, then dismembered and disposed of the body.
Confessing to the police, suspect Tran Bao Uyen admitted that at 9:00 a.m. on February 6, 2025, the couple had an argument, and they exchanged words, so Uyen pushed his wife, Truong Thi T. Tr., hard, causing her to fall to the floor and start bleeding. After that, Uyen punched his wife in the head several times. A moment later, Uyen touched his wife's nose and found that she was no longer breathing.
Tran Bao Uyen confessed that because he was panicked, he pulled out a large knife, dragged his wife's body into the bathroom, and chopped her body into three parts to dispose of the evidence. Uyen used a blanket and bed sheet to wrap his wife's body, then removed the security camera in the house. Next, Tran Bao Uyen used a motorbike to transport the victim's body to the end of Le Van Duyet Street, Son Tra District, Da Nang City to hide it.
At around 1 p.m. the same day, Uyen returned to the place where the body was hidden, put the body and the murder weapon on a small boat, then drove the boat carrying the body parts and the murder weapon to the sea area near Tien Sa port, Son Tra district, Da Nang, and threw them into the sea to destroy the evidence.
Colonel Nguyen Ha Lai, Deputy Director of Quang Nam Provincial Police, said that the successful investigation and discovery of the case and the identification of the perpetrator were the great efforts of each member of the Investigation Committee and related units.
Previously, at 8:40 a.m. on February 10, Tam Quang Commune Police, Nui Thanh District, Quang Nam Province received a report from local residents about the discovery of part of a victim's body drifting ashore in An Hai Dong Village, Tam Quang Commune. The body was initially identified as a female, not intact, only from the abdomen up, without a head or legs.
Upon examination, the body was found to be wearing four silver bracelets on its left wrist and a silver ring with a flower-shaped face and stones on its left ring finger. The body showed signs of decomposition several days ago.
