This year, 20 military schools will not consider transcripts for admission, and will add 6 more combinations, including computer science.
The information was announced by the Military Recruitment Board of the Ministry of National Defense on the morning of April 15.
Specifically, military schools recruit students using three methods: direct admission, priority admission for candidates who have won national and international awards; based on the scores of the competency assessment test organized by two national universities; and based on the scores of the high school graduation exam.
Compared to last year, military schools have stopped considering high school transcripts for admission.
Candidates are awarded bonus points if they meet the conditions for direct admission and priority admission but do not use them, but register for consideration based on exam results. The group that receives bonus points also includes students with excellent academic performance, good conduct for three years, and at the same time meet one of the following criteria: third prize in the provincial excellent student competition; IELTS 5.5 or equivalent; SAT score 1,068/1,600 or ACT 18 or higher.

The new combinations are C01 (literature, math, physics), C02 (literature, math, chemistry), C03 (literature, math, history), C04 (literature, math, geography), D07 (math, chemistry, English) and A0T (math, physics, IT).

This year, 20 military schools recruited nearly 4,400 university and college students, a decrease of nearly 1,000 compared to last year. Of these, the Political Officer School recruited the most - 766, an increase of 20 compared to last year. Last year, 17 military schools recruited about 5,300 university students. The standard score based on high school graduation exam scores ranged from 20.6 to 28.55.
