On April 22, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF), together with social organizations, left-wing patriotic movements... organized a wreath-laying ceremony and visited Lenin's Mausoleum on Red Square in Moscow.
The event was attended by Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Ivan Melnikov, members of the KPRF leadership and a large number of people. Representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia also attended.
From early morning, thousands of people gathered at Manezh Square, next to the Monument to Marshal Zhukov, carrying red flags with sickles, flags of the KPRF, pictures of leaders Lenin and Stalin, and many slogans such as: "Congratulations on the 154th birthday of VI Lenin", "Glory to VI Lenin - the organizer and inspirer of the great Soviet Land!", "Lenin! Stalin! Socialism!", "Lenin's ideas live forever", "For the Soviet Union - for a socialist, just, powerful Russia", "Lenin in our thoughts, deeds and actions"... From Manezh Square, the forest of red flags marched across Red Square to Lenin's Mausoleum, respectfully placed fresh flowers next to the mausoleum and then visited the mausoleum.
Affirming the immortal values of Lenin's ideology, Chairman of the KPRF Gennady Zyuganov said: "Today we celebrate the birthday of a genius of mankind, a great politician, a great scientist, a man who saved Russia with its 1,000-year history from destruction during World War I. Lenin is also an example of overcoming the most difficult circumstances and the most complex problems with the most peaceful and effective means." Mr. Zyuganov also said that in a survey of the 18-24 generation that was just published, 67% of respondents highly appreciated the Lenin era and were proud of the great Soviet era.
In his speech, Mr. Zyuganov also praised the steadfast path of following the socialist path of countries such as China, Vietnam..., as well as the achievements and economic development that these countries have achieved.
“This is a sunny day for the whole world because it is the birthday of Vladimir Ilich Lenin. This is a day of celebration for all those who want peace and friendship in the world, no wars, no diseases, and for us to help each other and for the peoples of the world to unite,” said Vladimir, a Moscow resident.
Activities commemorating the 154th anniversary of VI Lenin's birth also took place on April 19 and 22 in many cities and regions of Russia.
