Checking training for military parade, march to celebrate Dien Bien Phu Victory

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense, chaired the inspection of training, joint rehearsal of the parade, and march.

The parade was held on the morning of May 7, 2024 after the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory at Dien Bien Provincial Stadium, with preparations consisting of 5 forces: Artillery force; Air Force flying salute; parade force (including the Honor Guard, the parade force chaired by the Ministry of National Defense in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, the parade force of the Masses, the parade force of the Arts); the background force on the field (including 27 blocks, including 7 armed forces blocks, 20 mass forces blocks); the force forming shapes and letters.

The parade of the Army and the Militia and Self-Defense Force had the participation of all forces: the female Military Band; the Dien Bien soldiers; the officer groups: Army, Navy, Air Defense - Air Force, Border Guard, Coast Guard, female Military Medical officers; the Cyber ​​​​Warfare Force, the Vietnam Peacekeeping Force (female); the soldier groups: Army, Special Forces, Special Forces; the female militia group of the Northwest ethnic groups; the female guerrillas of the South; the Red Flag group. This was the first joint training of the parade and marching forces of the Army and the Militia and Self-Defense Force for this event.

Through monitoring and inspecting the joint training, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong assessed that although the training and practice time was not long (about a month) in difficult weather conditions, cold and rainy in the North, although there were still certain shortcomings, the forces of the Army and Militia participating in the parade and marching promoted a sense of responsibility, overcame difficulties, and initially completed the assigned tasks.

Emphasizing that there are about 6 weeks left until the Anniversary Ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong said that urgent conditions require the forces to make the greatest efforts in training and practice.

To fulfill the set goals and requirements, the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army requires each participating individual to thoroughly understand the position and significance of the parade and march in the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.

“Participating in the parades and marches is both an honor and a responsibility of each individual and unit towards the Army and the country. Therefore, comrades need to promote a good sense of responsibility in training, joint training and discipline; unite to overcome difficulties, concentrate highly, grasp the content conveyed; actively practice and master the basic movements of the Troop Regulations according to the tasks of each block and each force,” Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong noted.

Training organization needs to be really basic, taking the basic training of each person, each group, each row as the main thing, as the basis for practicing coordinated movements in each block, achieving the requirements: correct, even, strong, beautiful, unified; mastering each movement, strictly following the Command, maintaining the correct distance between the block leaders and each block; when practicing together, it is necessary to demonstrate the spirit of solidarity, coordination; the unity, solemnity, and power of the regular army.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong requested that after each day and week of training and joint training, teachers and managers must record and monitor the training results of each person and each row, promptly draw lessons, and have measures to train and practice separately for individuals and departments that are lacking.

The Parade and Marching Subcommittee and the Organizing Committee of the units must properly implement the Regulations, strictly maintain the regular construction regimes, properly implement the internal rules and regulations of the Parade and Marching Subcommittee and of the unit; conduct training and joint exercises according to the determined program, ensuring absolute safety for people and weapons and equipment.

Chief of the General Staff Nguyen Tan Cuong requested the forces to serve and ensure a high sense of responsibility, closely coordinate, create the best conditions for food, accommodation and living; take care of the health of the forces; prepare carefully, ensure the best conditions for the grounds and materials during the training and joint training process.
