The Minister of Industry and Trade requires corporations and general companies to not allow power shortages to occur under any circumstances to ensure security of power supply in the coming time.
On November 24, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien and leaders of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises worked with the following corporations: Vietnam Electricity, Vietnam Oil and Gas, Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Group and the following corporations: Dong Bac, Vietnam Gas on the implementation of the electricity supply plan, coal and gas supply chart for electricity production along with solutions to ensure electricity supply security in 2024.
At the meeting, representatives of business leaders reported on the implementation of electricity supply, coal and gas supply for electricity production in 2023 and the expected plan for 2024; difficulties and obstacles and proposed solutions and recommendations to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to ensure adequate electricity supply in 2024 and adequate coal and gas supply for electricity production in 2024.
The recommendations were listened to and answered in detail by the Ministry of Industry and Trade; the functional departments/bureaus of the Ministry of Industry and Trade also proposed specific solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles in the production and business activities of enterprises in recent times.
Minister Nguyen Hong Dien highly appreciated and acknowledged the efforts of corporations and general companies in ensuring electricity supply and coal and gas fuel supply for electricity production in recent times, contributing a large source of revenue to the State budget, helping to control inflation, as well as maintaining policies for employees at the units.
To ensure security of electricity supply in the coming time, the Minister of Industry and Trade has requested that corporations and general companies, in all situations, must not allow a shortage of electricity, coal and gas to supply electricity production to serve the economy and people's daily life; must not allow a disruption in energy supply and a prolonged generator failure.
In addition, corporations and general companies in the energy sector continue to fully implement the direction of the Government Standing Committee, the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises on issues related to electricity supply, coal and gas supply for electricity production.
Specifically, there are six tasks: Strictly implement the electricity supply plan and coal supply chart for 2024 approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. At the same time, strengthen effective coordination; effectively implement electricity purchase and sale contracts, coal supply contracts, and gas supply contracts for electricity production according to the principle of all for the common goal, for the national interest; strictly implement the terms of commitment in the signed electricity purchase and sale contracts, coal/gas purchase and sale contracts for electricity production.
Besides, be proactive in carrying out political tasks; must ensure energy supply in all situations, must not let the supply be interrupted.
Next, urgently direct and thoroughly fix any damage or incidents of factories and generators within the scope of management, ensuring that factories are capable of operating and ready to operate at maximum capacity under permitted technical conditions.
Along with that, strengthen the inspection and supervision of investors of affiliated power plants in the implementation of: Directive No. 29/CT-TTg dated December 2, 2019 of the Prime Minister on continuing to strengthen state management of coal production, trading and coal supply for electricity production; Directive No. 20/CT-TTg dated June 8, 2023 on enhancing electricity saving in the period of 2023-2025 and the following years; Decision No. 279/QD-TTg dated March 8, 2018 approving the National Program on electricity demand management for the period of 2018-2020, with a vision to 2030; and tasks assigned by the Minister of Industry and Trade in related documents.
Finally, do a good job of communication in the coming time so that people and economic sectors can share and support each other to overcome difficulties in production and business activities.
In addition to the above general tasks, the Minister also assigned specific tasks to corporations, general companies, functional units of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the committee to implement and promptly report to the Ministry's leaders and the committee's leaders on issues arising beyond their authority for direction and resolution...
