The book is a historical work voluntarily, scientifically and responsibly researched by the editorial team.

The book "Historical and cultural relics of Hai Duong City" is currently stored at the Provincial Library.

Known as the “eastern fence” protecting Thang Long citadel, the ancient Dong Citadel, Hai Duong City has now gone through many changes along with the ups and downs of the country. From a place with no people at first, only officials and soldiers, Hai Duong City has now become a class I urban area.

That process of “sea turning into mulberry fields” (the green sea turns into mulberry fields, indicating great changes) is marked by historical and cultural relics that still exist today. These relics are introduced relatively fully in the book “Historical and Cultural Relics of Hai Duong City”, published in 2018.

The book is a historical work compiled by the Hai Duong City Department of Culture and Information and Mr. Pham Quy Mui, former officer of the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department, member of the Hai Duong Province Historical Association, voluntarily, scientifically and responsibly researched. With enthusiasm and love for their hometown city, the cultural officers have conducted many field trips and researched historical documents to provide scientifically and reasonably arranged information, contributing to the preservation of relics.

The book's content is divided into three parts, including nationally ranked historical, cultural and artistic relics; provincially ranked relics and valuable relics that need conservation attention.

Each relic has different historical content and value. Many famous and sacred relics preserve the cultural, historical and artistic soul of our ancestors such as the historical and cultural relics of Bao Sai communal house - temple - pagoda; the relics of communal house, mausoleum, and shrine of General Dinh Van Ta, the relics of Suot communal house and temple; Tu Dong, Khanh Hoi, and Vu Xa communal houses... The book also tells about typical revolutionary relics, demonstrating the bravery of the land and people of Thanh Dong such as the victory stele, martyrs' monument, Hai Duong prison...

The above places preserving cultural and historical values have been collected relatively completely, and are a valuable source of documents to educate the younger generation about traditions, helping readers gain a deep understanding of the land and people of Hai Duong.

The book is nearly 200 pages long and is currently stored at the Provincial Library.
