On the evening of November 29 in Hanoi, the opening ceremony of "Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday 2024: Proud of Vietnamese products standing shoulder to shoulder with global brands" took place.
Online Friday 2024 takes place from 0:00 on November 29 to 12:00 on December 1, including a series of attractive activities: 60-hour online shopping event on e-commerce platforms and digital platforms in Vietnam; Big Off Festival to experience e-commerce at Hoan Kiem Lake walking street and Hanoi Children's Palace with many exciting activities.
In particular, throughout Online Friday 2024, there will also be the participation of many content creators and operators on digital platforms (Vitamin, VTVcab, ACCESSTRADE, BLIVEE, BYSCOM, PT Group, TIKMAX), closely connected with brands and businesses to introduce and promote specialties from all over the country. The activity will contribute to enhancing the value of Vietnamese goods and promoting Vietnamese goods to confidently stand shoulder to shoulder with international brands.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan said that over the years, e-commerce in Vietnam has affirmed its pioneering role in the digital economy. Although the global and regional economies are still facing many challenges, Vietnam's e-commerce continues to maintain an impressive growth rate of 18-25% per year.
In 2023, Vietnam's e-commerce recorded a growth rate of 25%, with a revenue scale of 20.5 billion USD. It is forecasted that in 2024, the market size will exceed the 25 billion USD mark, clearly demonstrating the sustainable development and potential of this field.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan emphasized that the program "National E-commerce Week" and "Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday" held annually since 2014, is one of the outstanding initiatives demonstrating the strong support of the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to develop e-commerce.
In the bustling online shopping atmosphere at the end of the year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade also encourages Vietnamese enterprises and brands to participate more strongly in the e-commerce market.
Responding to that direction, many Vietnamese manufacturing enterprises, infrastructure and logistics service providers, e-commerce platforms, media agencies and units, digital content creators, etc. have cooperated and connected to implement activities to promote the consumption of Vietnamese goods during the "National E-commerce Week" and "Vietnam Online Shopping Day."
