On the morning of November 6 in Hanoi, the Vietnam-Korea ICT Cooperation Forum 2023 officially opened. The third time it has been held, the forum is an opportunity to exchange and share cooperation needs in the field of information technology and digital transformation, as well as policies on digital technology, technology development, and human resource training between Vietnam and Korea.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam in coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam, the Korea Information Technology Cooperation Center in Hanoi (Korea Information and Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) and the Ministry of Science, ICT and Communications of Korea.
The driving force for rapid and sustainable development
In his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam assessed that this is a promising space to promote cooperation between the two countries in the field of information and communications technology - one of the fields that has a strong influence on all aspects of life and socio-economic activities.
According to Deputy Minister Phan Tam, entering the 2021-2030 period, the world continues to be dominated by Digital Transformation. Based on the foundation of many new technologies, the core of which is Digital technology (artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, blockchain, cloud computing, Internet of Things...), Digital Transformation is creating new development space - Digital Government, Digital Economy, Digital Society for every country. Digital Technology and Digital Transformation have been identified as the core of all rapid and sustainable growth models in many countries.
The Vietnamese Government has identified the dual goal of developing Digital Government, Digital Economy, Digital Society, and forming Vietnamese Digital technology enterprises with global competitiveness, to realize the aspiration of a strong and prosperous Vietnam, with prosperous, well-off and happy people.
"Korea is a leading country in the field of Digital technology and an important partner of Vietnam. We have many things in common and opportunities for cooperation, especially in the field of Digital Government development and Digital human resources. In recent times, the two sides have had specific and practical cooperation activities such as human resource training, capacity building for Vietnamese agencies, consulting on the development of the Law on Electronic Transactions, the Law on Digital Technology Industry, implementing the Vietnam-Korea ITCP project... I hope that through this forum, we will share experiences and promote cooperation between the two countries, thereby finding many new cooperation opportunities," said Deputy Minister Phan Tam.
The 3rd Vietnam-Korea Digital Forum is expected to be an opportunity to respond to the widespread interest and cooperation needs in the field of information technology and Digital Transformation between Vietnam and Korea, such as policies on Digital technology, technology development, human resource training and an opportunity for the two countries to continue cooperation.
Focus on Digital Government and Digital Workforce
According to Mr. Jeong Sung - Deputy Director of the Korea Information and Communications Technology Industry Promotion Agency, the Vietnam-Korea Digital Transformation Forum today chose Digital Government and Digital Workforce as the topic to discuss in the Digital Transformation process in all fields and industries.
"This is also the time when through Digital Transformation, through the cooperation method between countries, new forms have been found. We hope that based on the solid trust in the comprehensive strategic partnership, Vietnam and Korea will together solve new challenges in general and continue to maintain close cooperation and exchange in the field of Digital Transformation in particular. The Korea ICT Promotion Agency is committed to always working side by side with the organizing agencies, strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of Digital Transformation between the two countries," said Mr. Jeong Sung.
At the forum, Mr. Tran Minh Tan - Deputy Director of the Institute of Strategy of the Ministry of Information and Communications shared the orientations for the development of Vietnam's National Digital Infrastructure. Accordingly, the vision of National Digital Transformation is set that by 2030, Vietnam will become a Digital Nation. To implement Digital Transformation in Vietnam, Digital Human Resources is a top priority.
In the orientation of developing the National Digital Platform, Vietnam prioritizes and focuses on developing Make in Vietnam digital platforms; The person holding the Digital Platform is the only one holding the data and becomes the richest person; The Digital Platform is built and owned by the country, so the data and wealth belong to the country.
The Vietnam-Korea Digital Transformation Forum not only had the participation of leaders of two specialized ministries in the field of Information and Communications of Vietnam and Korea, but also attracted the participation of leading enterprises in the field of artificial intelligence AI and virtual reality from Korea.
Companies brought to the forum booths to demo solutions in areas such as: Medical AI solutions to support fast and accurate diagnosis of chest diseases, cerebral aneurysms, etc.; Medical image storage and transmission solutions; Smart city services and platforms and digital security based on IT, cloud, AI; XR solutions and simulation systems for smart vehicles; Integrated solutions in smart city management, etc.
On the same afternoon, the Vietnam-Korea IT Cooperation Alliance will be officially established. This is the first time an organization linking Vietnam and Korea, representing IT enterprises of the two countries, has been launched. The organization plays a role in connecting cooperation, providing information on business support programs from the two governments, and at the same time linking to organize support activities for businesses to access and penetrate the market. |
