Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee decided to extend the implementation period of the Project on comprehensive development of dynamic urban areas of Hai Duong City due to some problems.
The People's Committee of Hai Duong province has decided to adjust the implementation time of the Project on Integrated Development of Dynamic Urban Areas of Hai Duong City from 2019 to December 31, 2026, instead of June 30, 2025 as originally decided.
The reason is that during the project implementation, compensation and site clearance encountered difficulties; waiting for opinions on wastewater treatment technology; at times some contractors did not arrange enough equipment, human resources, supplies, materials, etc.
The project for comprehensive development of dynamic urban areas in Hai Duong City consists of two components, with a total cost of nearly VND 1,775 billion, from loans from the World Bank and counterpart funds from Hai Duong province. To date, the project has completed 81% of the work volume.
The project's completion contributes to completing technical infrastructure, improving drainage systems, preventing flooding for about 1,000 hectares in the western area of Hai Duong City; supporting sustainable urban development, green urban areas and smart urban areas, adapting to climate change.
