The Z500 imported from Thailand has a 451cc twin-cylinder engine, 45 horsepower, competing with the Honda CB500F.
On August 18, Kawasaki distributor in Vietnam launched the Japanese company's new nakedbike model, the 2024 Z500. The vehicle is a replacement version for the previous Z400 line that was also sold in the domestic market.
Kawasaki Z500 sold in Vietnam is imported from the factory in Thailand with only one version, priced at 170.6 million VND. The vehicle only has a black color option with some silver and blue decorative motifs.
The Z500 was first launched by the Japanese company at the end of 2023 at the EICMA exhibition (Italy). Compared to the Z400, the Kawasaki Z500 line has a more aggressive and aggressive design. The headlights and taillights are both more compact than the Z400 version.
Like its predecessors, the Z500 also has LED turn signals instead of halogen like the Z400. The analog speedometer on the Z400 is replaced by an LCD on the Z500. The vehicle supports smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth.
The Japanese company said the Z500's seat is slightly lower than the Z400's and has a different shape, allowing the rider to sit more upright while riding. This improvement also helps the rider's legs lean less forward, making them less susceptible to engine heat than on the Z400.
Other equipment on the Z500 is similar to the Z400 such as front telescopic shock absorbers and rear single-cylinder springs. Single disc brakes for both wheels with ABS anti-lock braking technology. Front wheel size 110/70-R17, rear wheel 150/60-R17.
The Z500's engine has been increased by 52cc, to 451cc. This DOHC twin-cylinder engine produces 44.8 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 42.6 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Compared to the Z400, the engine on the Z500 has the same power, while the traction is much improved and reaches its peak at an earlier rpm range.
The vehicle's gearbox is still a 6-speed manual clutch. Comes with gear shifting assist technology and anti-slip clutch.
In Vietnam, Kawasaki Z500 directly competes with Honda CB500F priced at 184.5 million VND, also imported from Thailand.
