Unemployed workers in Hai Duong are mainly unskilled workers so they are reluctant to register for new vocational training.
According to the provincial Center for Employment Services and Vocational Education, from the beginning of the year to mid-April, out of more than 2,000 Hai Duong workers who applied for unemployment benefits, only 23 workers registered for new vocational training, accounting for more than 1% of the number of workers receiving unemployment benefits.
The reason is that most of the workers who applied for unemployment benefits in Hai Duong are unskilled workers and are old, so they are reluctant to learn a new trade. Some unemployed workers, while waiting for benefits, spend time looking for new jobs and do not want to go to vocational training. Some workers are worried that learning a new trade will still make it difficult to find a job, so they do not register to participate.
To support unemployed workers, in addition to creating conditions for vocational training, the Center for Employment Services - Vocational Education has provided advice and introduced new jobs to more than 4,000 workers. The unit also regularly organizes online job fairs to connect unemployed workers to find jobs.
