Iran's foreign minister said the country was determined to defend itself after Israeli warplanes and missiles attacked several military bases and defense industries, killing two soldiers.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told reporters on October 26 (local time): "I think we have proven that our determination to defend ourselves has no limits."

Iran's foreign minister was also the first official from the country to speak out after Israel's attack early that morning.

For its part, the Iranian military said the Israeli airstrikes only damaged some radar systems. "Thanks to the timely effectiveness of the country's air defense system, the attacks caused only limited damage and some radar systems were damaged," the statement said.

In another related development, the Office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the same day denied information from some newspapers that Israel had informed Iran through a third party about the targets they were aiming for.

“Israel did not inform Iran before the attack – not about the timing, not about the targets and not about the scale of the attack,” the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
