Honda Dax 1978 - tiny motorbike costs over 100 million VND

At the Bangkok International Exhibition in April in Thailand, the Japanese company introduced a limited production version of 150 Honda Dax ST125 1978 Special Edition. The vehicle was recently imported by a business in Ho Chi Minh City in a quantity of a few units.

The Dax 1978 Special Edition is inspired by the Honda Dax ST50 that debuted in 1978. The original Dax featured a black frame and reflective three-stripe decals in dark red, light red and yellow. These details will also appear on the 2024 model.

The rear of the Honda Dax 1978 Special Edition has a stainless steel rack. The front is a chrome-plated fender provided by Kitaco (Japan). The ST125 badge on the side of the car is embossed instead of being painted into the frame (standard version), the design is similar to the 1978 ST50 version.

In addition to the above special highlights, the Honda Dax 1978 Special Edition retains the same design and equipment as the standard version. The vehicle is built on a T-shaped steel frame structure. The name Dax of this model comes from the Dachshund dog breed (sausage dog, sausage dog). The elongated shape and low height of the vehicle are quite similar to the shape of this dog breed.

Honda Dax ST125 is equipped with front inverted shock absorbers, disc brakes on both wheels, the front wheel has an ABS anti-lock braking system. Headlights and taillights are all LED. LCD speedometer.

Honda's tiny car has dimensions of length, width, and height of 1,760 mm, 760 mm, 1,020 mm, and a seat height of 775 mm. The vehicle's gross weight is 106 kg.

Honda Dax ST125 2024 is equipped with a 124cc SOHC engine, electronic fuel injection, 9.25 horsepower, maximum torque of 10.8 Nm. 4-speed gearbox, air-cooled.

The Honda Dax 1978 Special Edition has no official price in Vietnam. The importer said the expected price is over 100 million VND, which is more expensive than the genuine Honda SH 160i model (from 92.5 million VND) which has a larger size, stronger engine, and more technology.

Honda Dax is a picky car because of its compact, playful design and high price. Dax players are often financially strong and like to collect limited editions. The importer said that some customers buy the car not to drive it every day but to display it at home or in the office as a decorative item.
