Revealing the reward of hundreds of millions of dong for athletes winning gold medals at ASIAD 19

The bonuses for the athletes who won gold medals at the 19th ASIAD were announced at the departure ceremony of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation on the evening of September 16. The bonus amount that each ASIAD 19 champion received was up to hundreds of millions of VND.

Specifically, the National Olympic Committee (VOC) set a general bonus of VND200 million for each gold medalist. In addition, the 19th ASIAD champions will also receive a bonus of VND140 million/gold medal according to State regulations. The National Sports Training Center offers a bonus of VND100 million for each gold medal.

In addition, some sport federations also announced large rewards for each Asian Games gold medal.

The Vietnam Athletics Federation's bonus for a team gold medal is 600 million VND (of which 400 million VND is the total bonus for the 4 competing athletes and 200 million VND for the direct coach). The athlete who wins an individual gold medal is awarded 300 million VND.

The Gymnastics Federation offers a reward of VND100 million for gold medals, VND50 million for silver medals and VND20 million for bronze medals. The corresponding rewards from the Weightlifting Federation are VND30 million, VND20 million and VND10 million.

Sepak takraw is also ranked in the group of athletes with the potential to compete for a gold medal for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 19th ASIAD. If they win the gold medal, Sepak takraw players will be awarded 300 million VND.

The 19th Asian Games (ASIAD 19) took place in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8. The Vietnamese sports delegation registered 337 athletes to compete in 31 sports with the goal of winning 2 to 5 gold medals.

The Vietnamese sports delegation aims to win gold medals in sepak takraw, karate, shooting, boxing and chess.

Two months ago, the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team won the world gold medal in the 4-person event.

In boxing, the biggest hope is placed on Nguyen Thi Tam - the current world runner-up. After suffering an injury that forced her to withdraw from the 32nd SEA Games, the female boxer has recovered well and can compete for a medal at the 19th ASIAD.

Karate is a key sport for the Vietnamese delegation at the 19th ASIAD. The Vietnamese karate team just won a gold medal in the women's team kumite event at the 32nd SEA Games and the Asian Championship.
