Revealing the assistant team of coach Hoang Anh Tuan at U23 Vietnam

Coach Le Phuoc Tu returns to the coaching staff of the Vietnam U23 team to prepare for the 2024 AFC U23 Championship. This is the second time the former defender has accompanied coach Hoang Anh Tuan on the U23 team. Last year, they won the Southeast Asian U23 Championship together.

Le Phuoc Tu was a famous former Vietnamese football player. He was part of the Vietnamese team that won the 2008 AFF Cup under coach Henrique Calisto.

In 2016, Phuoc Tu retired due to a torn knee ligament. He then moved to coaching at the PVF Youth Football Training Center and worked as an assistant to Coach Hua Hien Vinh at Pho Hien Club in the first division.

Mr. Vinh is also a member of the U23 Vietnam coaching staff during this training session. Meanwhile, the task of coaching the goalkeepers was assigned to Mr. Ngo Viet Trung - a member of coach Philippe Troussier's team at the Vietnam national team.

On the afternoon of April 1, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan finalized the list of 28 players for the U23 Asian Cup final. The Khanh Hoa coach used all 4 player substitution rights of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Nguyen Thanh Khai, Nguyen Duc Viet, Vo Nguyen Hoang, Nguyen Manh Hung were added. These are 4 players whose names were not on the preliminary list that coach Troussier sent to AFC.

In the 2024 AFC U23 Championship, Vietnam U23 is in Group D with Kuwait, Malaysia and Uzbekistan. The two matches against Malaysia and Kuwait will decide the fate of coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team. Vietnam U23 will play the opening match against Kuwait, followed by two matches against Malaysia and Uzbekistan.
