Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan is the head coach of the Vietnam U23 team.

Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan signed a contract with the Vietnam Football Federation, in charge of selecting and coaching the national youth teams from 2022 to present. After that, Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan led the Vietnam U20 team to qualify and attend the 2023 AFC U20 Championship finals in Uzbekistan in May 2023.

Most recently, he led the Vietnam U23 team to an excellent second win over the U23 Southeast Asian Championship, defeating Indonesia U23 in the final match in August 2023 in Thailand.

Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan is also the coach who made history in Vietnamese football when he led the Vietnam U19 team to enter the top 4 at the 2016 AFC U19 Championship, along with Japan, South Korea and Saudi Arabia to become the 4 excellent representatives of Asia to win tickets to the final round of the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup.

At the 2024 AFC U23 Championship taking place in Qatar from April 15 to May 3, the Vietnam U23 team is in Group D with Uzbekistan U23, Kuwait and Malaysia U23. According to the schedule, the Vietnam U23 team will play their opening match against Kuwait U23 on April 17, Malaysia U23 on April 20 and Uzbekistan U23 on April 23.

According to the plan, the Vietnam U23 team will gather to practice at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center from April 5. On April 8, the whole team will leave for Qatar to train and compete in a match with the Jordan U23 team on April 10, completing the final preparations before officially entering the continental arena.

Previously, to prepare for the 2024 AFC U23 Championship finals, the Vietnam Football Federation has created conditions for the Vietnam U23 team to gather and train in parallel with the national team during FIFA Days from 2023 to present.

Most recently, on the occasion of FIFA Days in March 2024, the Vietnam U23 team trained in Tajikistan and played 2 friendly matches with the Tajikistan U23 team, winning 1-0 in the first leg and drawing 0-0 in the second leg.
