Let's create education together

On September 5, nearly 500,000 students in Hai Duong, along with students across the country, joyfully attended the opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 school year..What changes will the education and training sector make this year so that students are always excited to go to school every morning?

What solutions does the education and training sector have to attract tens of thousands of parents to actively participate in helping their children study without pressure and without considering their children's results as an ornament for their parents?

In 2018, I bought the bookSeven methods of acquiring knowledgeAmerican. Reading this book, I was surprised by the fact that many of the contents in the book were applied by my grandmother to me since preschool age. At the age of 49, the small lines on plum leaves, jackfruit leaves, banana leaves... that my grandmother showed me when I was 5, 6 years old are still present in front of me, the Kieu verses she read still ring in my ears...

Thanks to observing leaves, objects, and listening to poetry since I was little, when I was in elementary school, I persistently made a water propeller, often turned on the National radio many times to see the internal structure with many microcircuits, capacitors, and wires, and always asked the question: Why can it talk?

If everyone had the knowledge and perseverance to teach their children like my grandmother, not only would the school be less burdened with criticism, but there would also be more methods of teaching students at home. At that time, society would have millions of knowledgeable mothers and fathers who would work together to create a quality educational ecosystem including family, school and society.

In newspapers, social networks, sidewalk tea shops, from cheap to expensive drinking places, or over bowls of green tea, people still complain and criticize the education sector. On the other hand, many teachers blame parents, society or salaries.

Unfortunately, all parties often just blame each other and rarely work together to find a way out so that children can receive a better education when there is always a way out.

For example, millions of people living in rural areas do not read books and do not care about their children reading books, which is a consequence of the previous school system having no libraries and of an education system that did not nurture and awaken reading potential.

Therefore, book fairs, mobile book libraries, and summer book storytelling festivals are being organized by a number of units, localities, and schools in Hai Duong, attracting a large number of students to participate and need to be expanded.

Or schools can invite farmers to come to school to help students understand the steps of making rice. This will help children understand: "We eat pure white rice/ We pity those who work hard day and night." When farmers feel respected, it will be possible for schools to mobilize them to participate in sharing sessions about parenting.

National education is the common task of the State, each locality and each family. Therefore, instead of blaming, let us act together to eliminate backwardness, mistakes, stagnation and create an education system aiming to catch up with advanced countries.
