Hearing the 3-year-old girl crying miserably in her adoptive father Tran Minh Dac's house, many people asked the homeowner to open the door and take the injured child out.
On the morning of November 6, dozens of people, along with officials and volunteers from Tan Trung commune, Dam Doi district, were present at the house of Mr. Dac, 55 years old, to rescue a little girl with swollen, deformed face and lips; and many injuries on her body.
Mr. Dac was taken to the police station to clarify the matter related to the girl's injuries.
Neighbors gathered at Mr. Tran Minh Dac's house this morning.
Neighbors said they heard "violent beatings" and the girl's cries coming from Mr. Dac's house since yesterday afternoon, so they informed people around and the authorities to intervene. Early this morning, many people tried to approach but Mr. Dac and his wife did not open the door until the commune police arrived.
According to Tan Trung commune authorities, Mr. Dac and his wife came here from Phu Quoc (Kien Giang) to live here for nearly a month. The couple adopted a 3-year-old girl in Phu Quoc about 6 months ago.
Dam Doi District Police are taking statements from Mr. Dac and his wife, but have not yet released any information. The girl is being cared for by local people and authorities.
