On the afternoon of December 25, the remaining two students being treated at Thanh Hoa City General Hospital were also discharged.
Previously, since December 21, this hospital has received 12 students from Dien Bien 1 Primary School, all of whom were diagnosed with food poisoning. Treatment methods include intravenous fluids, antibiotics, digestive enzymes, and electrolytes.
Parents form group to demand change of school food supplier
After the students were discharged from the hospital, the parents immediately requested to change the school's food supplier to Phuc Nguyen Service Development Trading Joint Stock Company located in Thanh Hoa City. Accordingly, all parents agreed to change the food supplier.
Lunch on December 21st caused many students of Dien Bien 1 School to be hospitalized.
Not only that, parents of Dien Bien 1 Primary School (Thanh Hoa City) were also upset that the school was not transparent in its reporting. Specifically, the number of students suffering from headaches and vomiting after lunch was up to dozens, but the school only reported 9 people.
A parent said that on December 22, in the Zalo group of one class alone, when the teacher asked parents to check the number of students absent to help the teacher, 18 students were absent.
Also in another class, a parent said that by the end of December 22, 26 children had stomach aches and vomited. The parents took their children to the nearest medical facility for examination.
A leader of Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital said that in addition to the four students admitted from the evening of December 21 to the morning of December 22, on the afternoon of December 22, the hospital received two more patients from Dien Bien 1 Primary School.
In addition, according to information from the leaders of Thanh Hoa City General Hospital, from the evening of December 21 to December 22, the hospital received 12 cases of students from Dien Bien 1 School. The students were hospitalized with abdominal pain, diarrhea, and fever.
According to hospital leaders, as of the morning of December 25, two students were still being treated. Some students were allowed to go home by their families on December 24.
After the incident, the Thanh Hoa Province Food Safety and Hygiene Department worked with the school and took food samples for testing to clarify the cause.
