After eating dinner, 61 students in Dak Mil district (Dak Nong) suddenly had stomachaches and vomiting and had to be hospitalized.
This afternoon, November 3, speaking with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Dang Trung, Director of Dak Mil District Medical Center, confirmed that 61 students of Dak Mil Secondary and High School had just been poisoned by food. All patients have now been discharged from the hospital.
"We are currently waiting for test results from the Central Highlands Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology to determine the cause of this poisoning," Mr. Trung shared.
Previously, on the afternoon of October 31, 225 students from Dak Mil Secondary and High School had lunch together. Afterwards, some students showed symptoms of stomachache, nausea, vomiting, and headache.
At this time, the school quickly called a car to take 61 students to Dak Mil District Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Of these, 27 children were assigned to stay in the emergency room for treatment and monitoring. The rest were examined, had ultrasounds, tests, and transferred to the Internal Medicine Department for treatment.
Currently, all children are in stable health and have been discharged from the hospital for home monitoring.
The dinner on October 31 at Dak Mil Secondary and High School included dishes such as rice, spinach soup, stir-fried water spinach, and braised pork with eggs.
Authorities are currently waiting for food sample test results to determine the cause of the poisoning.
