This is an important move in the context that the international community is currently focusing more on the issue of releasing civilian hostages than Israeli soldiers.

According to Hamas' statement, the above issue is not part of the negotiations on a temporary ceasefire and the conditions for releasing Israeli soldiers will be different from the conditions for releasing civilians.

Under the initial ceasefire agreement, which was scheduled to expire on the morning of November 28, Israel agreed to suspend military operations in Gaza for four days. Since November 24, 50 Israelis and 150 Palestinians have been released, with the latest release on the evening of November 27, including 11 more Israeli hostages and 33 Palestinians.

The Israeli government on the evening of November 27 also approved a list of 50 Palestinian female prisoners who could be released early as part of an agreement to extend a temporary ceasefire with Hamas in Gaza, thereby securing the release of nearly 20 more Israelis held hostage by the Palestinian militant group since October 7.

The ceasefire has been extended for two days and the two sides will continue to exchange hostages and prisoners.

The international community is working to call for a lasting ceasefire and the release of all those being held by both sides.
