Two cars collided on Cam Lo - La Son highway, two people died

At around 7:40 p.m. on March 10, driver Le Hoang Quan, 51 years old, residing in Dak Nong, was driving a 40-seat sleeper bus with a Ho Chi Minh City license plate on the Cam Lo - La Son highway from north to south. When reaching a two-lane section with no emergency lane in Phong Son commune, Phong Dien district, he suddenly encountered a truck stopped on the side of the road. Driver Quan turned the wheel to the left, but the rear of the car was still severely scratched.

The collision caused the back of the sleeper bus to break open, killing a Kho Mu couple, Cut Van Son, 20 years old, and Cut Thi Phong, 17 years old, residing in Ky Son district, Nghe An province, on the spot.

Nine others suffered multiple injuries, including a broken arm, and were taken to Hue Central Hospital, branch 2 in Phong An commune, Phong Dien district, more than 17 km from the scene. The victims all lived in Ky Son district and were on their way to the Central Highlands to tap rubber.

At the scene, the truck driven by Phan Dinh Thanh, 38 years old, residing in Thua Thien Hue, stopped occupying more than half of the right lane going from north to south, the headlights on. The rear of the truck was slightly damaged, and rice husks from the truck bed fell onto the road.

The sleeper bus's rear and part of the left side were broken. Debris and passengers' belongings were scattered within a 20 meter radius. Traffic through the area was congested.

Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Province, went to the scene to direct the handling of the consequences, and supported each death with 5 million VND. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
