From May 6-9, the interdisciplinary inspection team of the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene of Hai Duong province inspected 16 food processing and trading establishments.
The 16 establishments inspected by the inspection team are mainly restaurants, wedding event centers in Tu Ky, Binh Giang, Thanh Mien districts and Hai Duong city.
Through inspection, the delegation discovered that many establishments did not ensure a number of food hygiene and safety conditions such as: cramped, humid space, messy and unclean facilities, processing and trading tools, improper protective clothing of workers involved in processing and trading...
Hai Duong Newspaper reporters who followed the group noted that there were restaurants in Hai Duong City that did not pay attention to covering food properly, allowing insects to cling to them. Cups and dishes were left to dry right next to dirty plastic cans. The kitchen space was cramped, lacking light, and the trash can was placed right in the area where knives and cutting boards were used to prepare food...
The inspection team reminded and requested the establishments to immediately rectify and overcome the limitations; at the same time, made records to administratively handle a number of violating establishments.
From now until May 15, the delegation will continue to inspect food businesses in the remaining districts, towns and cities.
