Hai Duong wishes to connect investment with partners from the Middle East-Africa region, Qatar, Pakistan

On June 8, the delegation of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar and the Vietnamese Ambassador to Pakistan, the Middle East - Africa Department (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) visited and worked in Hai Duong.

Comrade Nguyen Minh Hung, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and representatives of the Departments of Planning and Investment, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development, Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board received and worked with the delegation.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung informed about the outstanding socio-economic results of Hai Duong province in recent times; proposed some cooperation contents with Qatar, Pakistan and countries in the Middle East - Africa region...

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated that Hai Duong province wishes to attract investment in the fields of processing and manufacturing industry, electricity and electronics industry, construction materials production industry, high-quality services, and logistics.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Pakistan, and the Middle East-Africa Department act as a bridge to support Hai Duong province in promoting its potential and strengths to potential partners of Qatar and Pakistan, and Middle East-Africa countries. At the same time, introduce investors from Qatar, Pakistan and Middle East countries interested in surveying and developing logistics centers in Binh Giang, Kinh Mon, Thanh Ha. Support the provision of information for provincial enterprises to connect and approach partners in the above countries to promote foreign investment attraction in Hai Duong province. Support the promotion of key and strong products of Hai Duong in the markets of Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Oman, South Africa; support investment promotion activities, trade promotion, expanding export markets; strengthen international cooperation in culture, tourism, etc.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also hopes that the Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Pakistan, and the Middle East - Africa Department will act as a bridge to provide information on the market, business culture, and consumption so that Hai Duong can have the conditions to participate deeply in the Halal market (a market that meets the standards for Muslims), especially in Muslim countries...

The delegation of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar and the Vietnamese Ambassador to Pakistan, the Middle East - Africa Department highly appreciated the investment environment, industrial infrastructure, traffic connection and the results in industrial development and investment attraction of the province. The delegation grasped information about the industrial development situation, potential and strengths of the locality to introduce and promote to businesses in the Middle East region in the coming time.

Earlier, in the morning of the same day, the delegation visited Dai An Industrial Park (Hai Duong City) for a survey. The investor of Dai An Industrial Park introduced to the delegation the development process, area, scale of investment in infrastructure construction of Dai An Industrial Park and Dai An Industrial Park expansion; activities of enterprises and investors in the industrial park; and areas with strengths to attract investment in Dai An Industrial Park.

According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee at the working session, in the first 5 months of 2024, Hai Duong attracted 162.6 million USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) and 28 domestic projects, with a total registered capital of more than 4,270 billion VND. To date, there are more than 2,300 investment projects in the province. Of which, there are 564 foreign investment projects, with a total capital of 10,457.6 million USD from 27 countries and territories, ranking 4th in the Red River Delta and 11th in the country. However, Hai Duong has no investment projects from investors from the Middle East - Africa and Pakistan.
