On the morning of June 27, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province held a conference to review 5 years of implementing Decree 21/2019/ND-CP on defense zones. 5 collectives and 8 individuals with outstanding achievements were commended.
Concluding the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Quan highly appreciated the results achieved in the past 5 years in implementing Decree 21 of the Government on building defense zones in Hai Duong.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that in the coming time, agencies and units must regularly educate and raise awareness for cadres, party members and people to perform well the task of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation. Promote the role and responsibility of Party committees and authorities at all levels in leading, directing and implementing Decree 21. Do a good job of forecasting, setting out goals, tasks and solutions suitable to the practical work of socio-economic development associated with ensuring national defense and security of the locality in the new situation.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, and authorities at all levels, especially military and police agencies, to perform well their advisory functions on the content of combining socio-economic development with national defense and security in the defense zone. Focus on leading the implementation of policies on socio-economic development, national defense and security, and budget investment for the construction of defense zones; building combat bases and rear bases. Strengthen the potential of national defense and security, promote the core role of the military and police forces, and focus on building armed forces in defense zones that are strong in political ideology.
Over the past 5 years, the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee and districts, towns and cities have all fully allocated budgets for planning and construction of defense works and activities of armed forces in defense areas, planning land conversion funds and building headquarters of the Military Command at the commune level.
From 2019 to present, the provincial armed forces have organized 14 defense area drills at the provincial and district levels; 6 drills at departments and branches; 298 commune-level drills; natural disaster prevention and search and rescue drills for 4 districts and 60 communes. Combat training has been focused on, in line with the motto, and achieved targets. National defense and security knowledge has been provided to 415,198 students...
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 13 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in building defense zones.
The collectives that awarded certificates of merit include: Provincial Military Command, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Provincial People's Committee Office, Chi Linh City Military Command.
