The 14 rice growing areas in Hai Duong that have just been granted domestic codes are all high-quality rice areas with high economic efficiency.
According to the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, the province currently has 14 rice growing areas that ensure quality and are assigned domestic growing area codes in the districts of Binh Giang, Ninh Giang, Thanh Mien, Kim Thanh, Kinh Mon town, etc. Each growing area is assigned a code with an area of 1 hectare or more. Of which, the largest area for growing spiral sticky rice is in Kim Anh commune (Kim Thanh) with an area of more than 36 hectares.
Rice growing areas are re-evaluated for each crop. Areas that commit to complying with regulations on growing areas, food hygiene and safety, growing according to VietGAP standards... will be re-issued codes according to regulations.
The rice growing areas that are assigned codes are all high-quality rice growing areas, local specialty rice such as Quyt sticky rice, Twisted sticky rice, Bac Thom No. 7... Coding the growing areas brings many practical benefits to farmers such as: standardizing the process of caring for and managing crops, managing the growing area, providing standard care procedures; warning about disease situations, planning care, listing of permitted pesticides and estimating yield... From there, the rice yields good, consistent quality and meets the increasingly high standards of domestic consumers.
