81 deputies have signed a petition to the Constitutional Court of Georgia on the impeachment of President Salome Zurabishvil.
On October 21, the Georgian Parliament's Committee on procedural and normative issues confirmed the authenticity of the signatures of 81 deputies in the petition submitted to the Constitutional Court on the impeachment of President Salome Zurabishvili in connection with foreign visits not approved by the government.
The submission has been sent to the Constitutional Court of Georgia and will be considered by the new Parliament (to be elected on October 26) in late November – early December.
The Georgian Dream party expects to receive at least 106 votes to proceed with impeachment.
Ms Zurabishvili was directly elected in 2018 and will end her term in December 2024.
