After a year of hard work, many workers in Hai Duong with difficult circumstances are very excited to be guaranteed full benefits and have their lives taken care of during Tet.
Returning home for Tet on a "zero-dong" bus sponsored by the company, Ms. Le Thi Huong, who works at GFT Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Lac Phuong commune (Tu Ky, Hai Duong), from Thanh Hoa province, was carrying a lot of luggage and gifts from the company and the trade union organization.
This year, with stable work, overtime, bonuses and Tet gifts, Ms. Huong is very excited about the results of her work after a year. With a shuttle bus to her hometown, Ms. Huong and many other workers from other provinces working at the company do not have to worry about waiting for a bus.
“During the year, the company increased the salary for employees twice. During Tet, I received gifts from the company and unions at all levels. With this support, I will save a lot of money and have a warm and full Tet with my children in my hometown. This is the motivation that helps me stay with the company and Hai Duong land,” Ms. Huong confided.
After many years away from her hometown in Cam Giang district (Hai Duong), this year, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lung, a worker in Bien Hoa city (Dong Nai), and her two children were able to return home for Tet thanks to the "union train - spring 2025".
Ms. Lung herself has thyroid cancer, her husband is sick and unemployed. She has 3 children, and her family's circumstances are difficult, so returning to her hometown for Tet is difficult. Therefore, even though she has to travel a long distance to return home to reunite with her family, Ms. Lung is very happy. Returning home for Tet, Ms. Lung also brought a gift from the trade union.
“I thought I would have to celebrate Tet far from home this year, but fortunately, thanks to the support of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and benefactors, I received a free train ticket to return home. With this support, I clearly feel the sharing and support for workers in difficult circumstances like me,” Ms. Lung said emotionally.
On the occasion of Tet, agencies, units and enterprises join hands to take care of the material and spiritual life of union members and workers, helping them feel secure in their work and production, and to celebrate Tet warmly and happily, especially workers and laborers in difficult circumstances.
According to the report of the Hai Duong Provincial Labor Federation, by January 23, 12 grassroots trade unions directly above the grassroots level had organized the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng". The units presented 11,604 gifts worth a total of 6.15 billion VND to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, trade unions at all levels in the province also supported and presented gifts to about 200,000 union members and workers with a total amount of nearly 65 billion VND. In addition to meetings to encourage and reward, agencies, units and enterprises in the province also organized Tet bonuses for workers with levels ranging from 2.8 to 6.5 million VND.
Many workers were able to participate in activities such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Zero-dong booths", lucky draws, winning prizes, and receiving bus tickets... These gifts were delivered to workers in time, erasing their worries and sadness at the end of the year.
To care for and retain employees, many businesses have paid attention to giving gifts and reasonable Tet bonuses, contributing to building harmonious and close labor relations. Ms. Luong Thi Han, Vice President of the Trade Union of GFT Vietnam Co., Ltd. said: "Every year, the company organizes a "0 VND" bus trip to take workers from other provinces working at the company back to their hometowns for Tet, coordinating with trade union organizations to give gifts to workers in difficult circumstances. Thanks to that, workers feel warmed by the care and sharing, return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet together after years of living away from home and feel secure to return to work after Tet."
