In 2024, Military School of Military Region 3 (stationed in Chi Linh City, Hai Duong) was assigned the task of training new soldiers who are children of provinces in Military Region 3, including some soldiers from Hai Duong province.
With most of the soldiers having just left school, lacking much experience and skills when having to live independently, away from their families, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the school have directed the Party Committee and commanders of Battalion 3 and Battalion 4 to thoroughly grasp and implement the motto "3 together" (eating together; living together; studying and training together) with the soldiers to help new soldiers feel confident and secure in their work from the first day they return to the unit.
At Battalion 3 in the late afternoon, we witnessed the joyful and exciting atmosphere of the officers and soldiers as they carried out many activities to prepare for the 2024 school-level mass art performance. For the first time participating in art practice at the unit, new soldier Bui Duc Bach (born in 2003), from Zone 3, Ninh Giang town, currently working at Company 6 (Battalion 3) shared: "On the first day of returning to the unit, I was very confused, everything seemed new, completely different from my daily life at home, so I was a bit worried. However, seeing that all of our comrades are determined to complete their tasks in the new environment, and especially the cadres are always close, understanding our family circumstances, encouraging and motivating us, we feel secure in competing in studying and training." Bach said that the happiest thing is to participate in many collective activities such as culture, arts; physical education, sports, seminars, youth forums, thereby helping new soldiers to be more confident in front of crowds and practice communication skills.
After a month of studying and training in the military environment, the new soldiers have gradually formed a disciplined and orderly lifestyle, with a more agile, active and confident demeanor. New soldier Nguyen Duc Truong (born in 2001), from Long Xuyen ward (Kinh Mon town) currently working in Company 6 (Battalion 3) confided: “Before, at home, I often stayed up late playing games, my lifestyle was not neat and tidy. But since joining the army and being trained, I have formed a style of doing things at the right time, eating and living neatly, which helps to lift my spirit and make my body healthier.”
Sharing about the work of grasping and managing new soldiers, Major Nguyen Van Trien, Captain of Company 6 (Battalion 3) said that most of the new soldiers are students who have just left school, away from their families and relatives for the first time, so they will inevitably be confused with the disciplined environment of the army. Therefore, the unit focuses on the work of ideological management, education, and motivation of the soldiers. Training officers regularly follow up and practice "3 together" with the soldiers; must truly be brothers and friends to be close, share, and help the soldiers. At the same time, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union proactively builds plans and programs for culture, arts, sports, exchanges, discussions, and comrades' birthdays to create a vibrant and joyful atmosphere right from the first days when new soldiers join the unit.
With the spirit of "All for beloved soldiers", in recent times, the Party Committee and Command of Battalion 3 have taken many practical measures to help new soldiers feel secure in studying and working, quickly integrate into the military environment, and strive to become excellent soldiers in the army. Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Quoc Hung, Party Committee Secretary and Political Commissar of Battalion 3, said: "In order to have appropriate measures to help new soldiers feel secure in working, the Party Committee and Command of the Battalion conduct a review and grasp the political quality of each new soldier, as a basis for the work of grasping and managing the ideological situation. We require cadres from squad to platoon and company to regularly care, be close, give enthusiastic and thoughtful instructions, create an atmosphere of solidarity, intimacy, and openness, helping soldiers to reduce homesickness, voluntarily study, practice, and well implement the regimes and regulations of the army and unit".
With flexible and effective measures and methods in managing and training new soldiers at the Military School of Military Region 3, it has brought about positive psychological effects, creating a friendly and open atmosphere, helping new soldiers feel secure in studying and training.
