The God of Wealth's day is the 10th day of the first lunar month. This year, this holiday falls on Monday, February 19th.

On this day, many families, especially businesses, often prepare offerings to worship the God of Wealth to pray for a prosperous and lucky new year.

According to feng shui expert Nguyen Song Ha, in the year of Giap Thin, the good times to worship the God of Wealth on the 10th of January include: Mao (5-7am), Ty (9-11am) and Than (15-17pm).

During these hours, the homeowner brings gold and silver through the main gate and main door and places it in the safe, where the family's money is often kept, to have a new year with lots of wealth, luck, and prosperity.

Before performing the ceremony, the homeowner needs to wipe off the dirt and purify the statue of the God of Wealth and the God of Earth with grapefruit flower water or diluted alcohol. The homeowner must use a clean cloth to wipe it. After cleaning, the homeowner waits for the statue to dry before starting the ceremony.

Homeowners should avoid leaving the two statues wet while worshiping. In addition, the altar and items need to be cleaned and free of dust.

The arrangement on the altar is also very important, it must follow the principles, not be arbitrary, sloppy, lose aesthetics and affect the dignity of the gods.

The God of Wealth statue must be placed on the left side of the altar looking from the outside in, on the right is the God of the Land statue, in the middle is the incense bowl. The jar of rice, salt and water will be placed between the two gods with the fruit tray on the left, the flower vase on the right.

Flowers and fruits for the God of Wealth should not be fake. You should buy fresh flowers with buds and if they have a good scent, the better; choose fresh, delicious fruits. Usually, families use apples, pears, bananas, oranges, and tangerines for offerings.
