USD prices in banks increased sharply

The USD/VND exchange rate at commercial banks today was adjusted to increase. Notably, the USD selling price at Vietcombank and other banks this afternoon also increased to exceed 25,000 VND/USD.

The USD/VND price at commercial banks this afternoon (April 2) increased sharply, with some banks increasing by more than 100 VND compared to this morning's session, simultaneously surpassing the 25,000 VND/USD mark.

Accordingly, VietinBank raised the USD buying and selling price to 24,765-25,105 VND/USD, an increase of 120 VND compared to this morning. This is also the bank with the highest buying and selling price in the market.

Next, BIDV Bank applied the exchange rate from 24,755-25,065 VND/USD, an increase of 100 VND. Vietcombank listed the USD price at 24,680-25,050 VND/USD, an increase of 80 VND compared to this morning. This is the highest listed price at this bank so far.

The selling price of USD at many private joint stock commercial banks also set a new peak, simultaneously surpassing the 25,000 VND mark.

Eximbank also announced an increase of 100 VND, currently this bank is trading from 24,690-25,080 VND.

Techcombank increased 95 VND for buying and 100 VND/USD for selling, to 24,728-25,079 VND/USD (buying - selling).

Sacombank listed the USD price at 24,700-25,090 VND/USD (buy - sell), an increase of 90 VND/USD compared to this morning.

Meanwhile, ACB raised the USD price to 24,690-25,070 VND/USD (buy-sell), up 70 VND/USD for buying and up 50 VND/USD for selling.

Today's central exchange rate is 24,005 VND/USD, up 1 VND compared to yesterday's session.

Applying a margin of 5%, commercial banks are allowed to trade at a ceiling rate of VND25,205/USD and a floor rate of VND22,805/USD.

The selling rate was also increased by 1 VND by the State Bank of Vietnam, to 25,155 VND/USD. The buying rate remained at 23,400 VND/USD.

In the international market, the USD price also increased. The USD increased due to information that the US manufacturing sector grew in March for the first time since September 2022.

The DXY index, which measures the greenback's strength against major currencies, rose to 105 points.
